We respect all the rights of all patients and their families who visit our hospitals while receiving care. This resource, prepared using the Patient Rights Regulation of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey, aims to inform our patients about their rights and the responsibilities they must fulfill when receiving care.
Patient Rights
Patient rights, guaranteed by international and national legislation, are the entirety of the practices implemented to protect the rights of individuals seeking medical assistance and applying to a healthcare facility throughout the entire service period provided.
Patient rights aim to ensure the highest level of protection of human health and the provision of high-quality healthcare services.
Right to Benefit from Services
Every individual who visits our hospital has the right to benefit from all services, regardless of language, religion, race, or sect. They have the right to equitably access the preventive and therapeutic healthcare services necessary for a healthy life.
The Right to Information and Request Information
Our patients have the right to receive information about their health status, available healthcare services, and how they can benefit from them. They also have the right to view and obtain documents related to themselves and their illness.
The Right to Consent and Approval
Our patients have the right to accept, refuse, or request the discontinuation of the proposed treatment after being adequately informed.
The Right to Choose and Change the Healthcare Facility and Personnel
Our patients have the right to choose which diagnostic and therapeutic method will be used, and to choose and change the doctors, nurses, and other healthcare personnel responsible for their treatment.
The Right to Privacy and Confidentiality
Our patients have the right to request that their personal information, health status, diagnosis and treatment processes, or the content of their private visits be kept confidential.
The Right to Respect and Be Treated with Dignity
Our patients have the right to receive healthcare services with a friendly, courteous, and compassionate approach, and in a clean, contemporary environment.
The Right to Practise Their Religious Obligations
Our patients have the right to practise their religious obligations within the healthcare facility's means and as long as they do not interfere with treatment.
Right to Visit and Accompaniment
Our patients have the right to receive visitors and have an accompanying person, in accordance with the procedures and principles established by our hospital.
Right to Security
Our patients have the right to be protected from risks and medical errors in healthcare services.*
Right to Consultation and Second Opinion
Our patients have the right to obtain information about their health from another physician in the same field, in addition to the treating physician, or to request a consultation with a specialist from a different field.
Right to Complain/Comment and Suggestion
Our patients have the right to initiate, review, finalize, and be informed of the outcome of the complaint mechanism at our hospital if their rights are violated.
* For security reasons, cameras are used in public and general areas of our hospitals. However, this measure is not applied in areas requiring privacy, such as patient rooms and physicians' rooms.
Patient Responsibilities
Patient/Client responsibilities are the duties and obligations that a patient must fulfill before and after seeking medical attention.
1. General Responsibilities
Our client is responsible for doing their best to care for their own health and following the recommendations given for a healthy lifestyle.
2. Social Security Status
Our client is responsible for promptly reporting any changes to their health, social security, and personal information.
3. Informing Healthcare Professionals
Our client is responsible for fully reporting their complaints, previous illnesses, any inpatient treatment, any current medications they are taking, and all other health-related information.
4. Compliance with Clinic Rules
Our client is responsible for adhering to the rules and practices of the clinic they are applying to.
Our client is responsible for adhering to the referral chain established by the Ministry of Health and relevant social security institutions.
Our client is responsible for cooperating with our clinic staff throughout the treatment and care process. If our client is using a healthcare facility that provides appointment services by appointment, they are responsible for adhering to the appointment date and time and informing the relevant authority of any changes.
Our client is responsible for respecting the rights of our clinic staff, other clients, and visitors.
Our client is responsible for covering any damage they may cause to our clinic equipment.
5. Compliance with Treatment Recommendations
Our client is responsible for carefully listening to treatment and medication recommendations and asking questions about any issues they may not understand.
Our client is responsible for informing the healthcare professional if they are unable to comply with treatment recommendations.
Our client is responsible for indicating whether they have correctly understood the procedures and procedures as expected after the treatment.
Our client is responsible for any consequences arising from refusing the procedure or failing to comply with the recommendations.
